The Ciampino Earth Market-the tenth in Italy, first in Lazio, and the most southerly in Italy so far-was inaugurated on Sunday, October 17, 2010.
About 20 producers are involved, almost all from the Province of Rome and the neighboring provinces of Frosinone and Latina. With fruit and vegetables, meat, wine, raw milk, cheese, bread and baked products, ice cream, cured meats, honey and artisan beer, the market can satisfy all basic food needs, as well as provide many tempting treats. Worthy of special mention are the Marzolina Presidium, cosmetics produced using surplus products from Marzolina cheese processing, and sweet kosher delicacies and As in other Earth Markets, visitors can also enjoy local street food, organized by the Osti di Frascati food community.
The market is organized by Slow Food Ciampino in collaboration with the Ciampino local authority and the Apiaria Association and held every third Sunday of the month from 9 am to 7 pm, at town's daily fruit and vegetable market in Piazzale dell'ASL, Via Calò, Ciampino.
