Bucharest Earth Market is back on March 6th, 2010.
The Radu Anton Roman Initiative Group and the Slow Food Bucharest Taste of Wallachia Convivium invite you to the inauguration of the Bucharest Earth Market, at The ARK Bursa Marfurilor (Calea Rahovei 196 A, corner with Uranus St., Sector 5), on March 6th, 2010, at 12:00 am.
On this occasion, also will be inaugurated the Information Centre of the Slow Food Bucharest-Taste of Wallachia, a local centre which will provide information regarding the Slow Food movement, Slow Food action groups in Romania and traditional food products presented at the market.
Between 2007-2009, the Farmer's Market has experimented, developed and evolved a great deal, being certified in 2009 as Bucharest Earth Market. Part of the international Earth Market network, the Bucharest Earth Market is certified by the Slow Food International and organized by Slow Food Bucharest - Taste of Wallachia. This is a Convivium which supports the values of the Slow Food movement: traditional food products that are good, clean and fair priced.
At the Bucharest Earth Market, consumers meet with small local producers, people who share the Slow Food philosophy. Local are consulted regarding the administration of the market, this way contributing to the consolidation of the distribution networks of traditional food products. One can find here quality products, provided directly by producers and the prices in the market reflect the farmers' work and the value of traditional products. These types of markets decrease the time needed for local products to reach consumers. In this way they become also co-producers, by learning local recipes directly from the source while also being involved in educational events.
